does anybody know what kind of tree has a large red leaf design that runs throughout the stump.?
the stump has a large red leaf type of design that runs from the top to the bottom. i beleive the tree is fromm tennessee or surrounding states but i’m not sure. anybody know what it might be? i’ll appreciate any suggestions.

It could be a red maple, as that particular variety has much red tint in the tree…so if it were cut down and only a stump remained, you might get that effect simply from the resin content…(and they are found in and around TN!)
Maybe it would be more easy to identify both the tree and the cause of the streaking if you were to give more information, such as what the bark looks like, how large in diameter, etc….
