When the children go on their first day of gymnastics do not know what they may wear. I see children come to the gym for class wearing things not only do you in laughter, but clothing that makes it impossible for them to join.
When it comes to gymnastics here are some things not you should wear to class. Do not wear jeans. You can not switch also in jeans, with their buttons and zippers to scratch and chip the gymnastics equipment. Loose baggy shirts are also a no no. They can be dangerous because the gymnast can get caught in the loose tee-shirt while loop. It is also very dangerous for coach if they are spotting gymnasts with maluluwag clothing. My co-worker spotted a gymnast on a back handspring and her finger got bent baggy tee to the gymnast's shirt broke his finger in three places. Do not wear socks, they make you slip. All jewelry (except stud earrings) should not be worn. Believe me; Taking a ring earrings caught and ripped out is not fun! If you are allowed to wear shorts in your gym make sure they are eligible and PLEASE wear undies under it!
Way too many times my teenaged gymnast forgotten (or just chose not to) wear undies, and that is not a pretty sight. Another thing the young children seem to wear tights and skirts are. They both are prohibited. It is very hard for a coach to spot a gymnast wearing that skirt or tights, it makes it extremely slider and it gets in the way both, the gymnast and coach. Do not leave your hair down. Not only will your hair dangle in your face and get annoying but it can also be dangerous. If your hair is down it can get yanked by your own hands while loop. Or even worse I hear the girls getting their hair stuck in trampoline spring, ouch! Make sure you use only a holder of your ponytail hair. If you wear clip they break and range when you made your skills as a back list, handstand forward list or even dive list.
If you follow some simple rules of clothing you are a much safer gymnast!
